The construction of a logistics hub “connecting China and abroad, extending to the east, middle and west domestically” is productive
With 8-year efforts, China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) has formed a logistics network covering Europe, Russia, Central Asia, ASEAN and Asian-Pacific region (Japan, South Korea, etc.), thus creating an international multi-modal transport system featuring “six ports with ten railway stations”.
To foster a framework covering China’s eastern, central and western regions, Zhengzhou-centered China-Europe rail freight service with 53 container yards takes more than 130 cities (counties) as its second-level collection and distribution centers, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, covering nearly three quarters of the country with a radius of 1,500 kilometers.
Globally, taking Hamburg and Munich of Germany, Liege of Belgium and Moscow of Russia as the first-level collection and distribution centers while Paris, Prague, Warsaw, Malaszewicze, Brest, etc., the second-level ones, Zhengzhou-centered China-Europe rail freight network with 46 container yards overseas has more than 6,000 economic partners at home and abroad, covering more than 130 cities in over 30 countries across the European Union, Russia and Central Asia.
China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) has played a significant role in global anti-pandemic war and economic recovery
During the COVID-19 pandemic, China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) ran smoothly along the “Land Silk Road”, which not only promoted the cross-border flow of goods and services and the resumption of work and production, but boosted the anti-pandemic cooperation between China, Europe and other countries along the route in an effective and efficient way. Given its irreplaceable role in global supply chain restructuring, it was praised as a reliable strategic corridor by the National Development and Reform Commission.
On May 7, 2020, ZIH was listed in the first batch of key international logistics enterprises by the State Council Special Work Team on International Logistics of the Work Resumption and Production Promotion Mechanism.
The idea of “Integration of Transport and Trade” yields fruitful outcomes
Since 2016, ZIH has followed the idea of “Integration of Transport and Trade” for scale expansion. Relying on its business in Europe, Central Asia, Japan, South Korea, etc., it has established a direct cooperative relationship with manufacturers in the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative by “direct procurement, direct consignment and direct sales”, using a cold whole-chain traceability system, which made the traditional coast-inland way of imported products-selling practice change.
With both online and offline selling channels, ZIH has domestic customers in 31 province-level regions, featuring benign interactions between transport and trade for promoting the transformation of Zhengzhou from a logistics hub to an industrial center.
The idea of “Integration of Transportand Trade”, a highlight of China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou), has widely spread among 63 cities nationwide involved .
So far, ZIH has entered an era of “Digital Train 3.0”. By promoting an international logistics featuring low cost, high efficiency and fast transport, it has played its role as reliable strategic corridor during the pandemic and further promoted the transformation of “Made in Henan” to “Intelligent Manufacturing in Henan” to boost the rapid development of Henan’s digital economy.
